Hurricane Sandy: The Road to Recovery
Hosted by the College of Liberal Arts
Saturday, April 20
Women’s Studies Lounge, 8th Floor
It is easy to take life’s luxuries for granted, but when Mother Nature brings her forces to bear we are urgently reminded of the preciousness of humanity. In October 2012, Hurricane Sandy, the largest Atlantic hurricane on record, brought powerful gusts and storm surges that caused unprecedented flooding in coastal communities. Join alumni and friends for an insider’s account of the devastation, and explore strategies for the recovery and rebuilding of the treasured area.
- Teresa S. Soufas, dean, College of Liberal Arts, Temple University (moderator)
- Dr. Edward J. Mahaney Jr., CLA ’67, Mayor, City of Cape May, NJ
- James P. Creedon, senior vice president, Construction, Facilities and Operations, Temple University
