Harold D. Schoenhaus, DPM, has had a long and distinguished career in podiatry, one that has encompassed research, teaching, mentoring and patient care.

Dr. Schoenhaus attended the Pennsylvania College of Podiatric Medicine, now Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine, and received his doctorate in podiatric medicine in 1970, when the field was in its infancy. Following his residency at Pennsylvania’s Parkview Hospital, he entered private practice and joined the faculty at the Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine (TUSPM). He has been a member of the faculty for 39 years and has achieved the academic rank of full professor.

Dr. Schoenhaus is certified by both the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and the American Board of Podiatric Orthopedics. He was named Outstanding Faculty at Pennsylvania College of Podiatric Medicine for 1986 to 1987, and Professor of the Year in 2004 and 2009 at Temple.

Dr. Schoenhaus has lectured nationally and internationally on a wide variety of podiatry and podiatric surgical topics. He has also developed an array of audiovisual instructional modules, as well as various surgical techniques.

Dr. Schoenhaus is Podiatric Director at the Penn Wound Care Center, and a member of the Department of Podiatric Foot and Ankle Surgery at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center. He has also served as chairman of the Department of Orthopedics at Temple University School of Medicine and at Pennsylvania College of Podiatric Medicine, where he was instrumental in developing the first Gait Study Center.

A Conwell Giving Society Member, as well as a member of the TUSPM Board of Visitors, Dr. Schoenhaus is the surgical editor for PRESENT eā€Learning Systems, an online medical education and networking resource dedicated to improving the knowledge and skills of healthcare professionals throughout the world.
