Founded in 1927, the TUAA Parliament
is the governing body representing all Temple University alumni. It comprises representatives of each of Temple’s school and college alumni associations, regional alumni chapters, shared interest societies, the Owl Club, faculty and students. It exists as a leadership group to foster closer relationships between alumni and the university, serving as a voice for all alumni everywhere. The TUAA president enjoys full voting privileges as an ex officio member of the university’s Board of Trustees. Other TUAA leaders serve on key university and trustee committees, representing varied alumni interests.
Over the past decade, the Temple University Alumni Association, an independent 501c-3, has bestowed several million dollars to Temple University. These gifts have supported construction projects such as the Liacouras Center and the Beasley School of Law Library as well as programming initiatives to enrich alumni engagement, including student and young alumni engagement, signature annual events, and athletics, educational and career programming.
