College of Education

The College of Education at Temple University holds as our central mission to improve the lives of students and their families through education. We prepare and sustain urban school professionals, teachers, and leaders with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed. Our research is targeted in support of this mission. Faculty study how children learn and grow, how to enable diverse groups of students to achieve academic success, how the psychology of individuals and families impacts student performance, and how the sociology of urban environments influences schools. The College looks to the future committed to further innovations in preparing teachers and leaders for our schools, and to enhancing educational practices with insights and approaches shaped by the best research.

Gifts from alumni and friends like you help to make a difference in the lives of every student by supporting initiatives including:
  • Providing much needed scholarship and fellowship support for our undergraduate and graduate students
  • Establishing the Bernard C. Watson Endowed Chair in Urban Education, the "Chair of the People"
  • Naming rooms and spaces within the new state-of-the-art College of Education Student Services Center - the first in the College's history
The College is on the move! These great strides are only possible with your support. Please join us to ensure the continued advancement of the College of Education.
